"No Way to Prevent This?" Tell That to the Graves of Our Children.

Gun violence is now the #1 killer of American children and teens. Not car crashes. Not cancer. Bullets. And yet, after every massacre—Columbine in our backyard, Sandy Hook, Uvalde, Boulder King Soopers—we’re fed the same lies:
"It’s mental illness!" (But we defund care.)
"It’s video games!" (Ignoring nations with identical games but no shootings.)
"Arm teachers!" (Turning schools into fortresses instead of sanctuaries.)

This isn’t incompetence—it’s complicity.

🔍 The Truth They’re Hiding

  1. THE SCOPE

    • 48,830 Americans died from gun violence in 2024.

    • 3,600+ were children—10x more than soldiers killed in combat zones .

    • We average 1 mass shooting every 12 hours .

  2. THE SCAPEGOAT PLAYBOOK
    After Orlando Pulse (LGBTQ+ club): "Radical Islam!"
    After El Paso (Latino target): "Immigrants!"
    After Boulder King Soopers: "He wasn’t ‘normal’!"
    Never the guns.

  3. THE OBSTRUCTION

    • The GOP blocked:

      • Universal background checks (supported by 90% of Americans).

      • Red flag laws (stopped 150+ shootings in states that have them).

      • Assault weapons ban (expired in 2004; mass shootings tripled).

❌ Debunking the NRA’s Deadly Lies

  • LIE: "Guns make us safer!"
    → FACT: For every "defensive gun use," there are 7 assaults, 11 suicides, and 27 accidents with firearms .

  • LIE: "The Second Amendment is absolute!"
    → FACT: Heller v. D.C. affirmed reasonable regulations—just like we ban tanks, grenades, and fully automatic weapons .

  • LIE: "Criminals will get guns anyway!"
    → FACT: States with background checks see 48% fewer gun suicides and 48% fewer trafficking rates .

✊ A Moral Obligation to Act

In Congress, I’ll fight for:

  1. Universal Background Checks: Close the gun show/online loopholes.

  2. Assault Weapons Ban: No civilian needs a weapon of war designed for mass slaughter.

  3. Red Flag Laws: Temporarily remove guns from those threatening harm.

  4. Repeal PLCAA: Let victims sue gun makers who knowingly market to extremists.

🇦🇺 Proof Change Works

After Port Arthur (1996), Australia:

  • Banned assault weapons and bought back 650,000 guns.

  • Result: ZERO mass shootings since. Homicides fell 59% .
